outstanding

outstanding
outstanding
has two primary meanings which are open to ambiguity: (1) ‘remarkable or conspicuous (among others of its kind)’ (the outstanding performance of the evening), and (2) ‘not yet settled or completed’ (three outstanding matters to discuss). In practice, however, context and (in speech) intonation are likely to render ambiguity theoretical rather than actual.
